Akasa PowerPlus 650W Power Supply

Akasa is well known for a wide variety of PC accessories such as cases, coolers, cables, control panels, lights, and power supplies. This review will be taking a look at the server class Akasa PowerPlus 650W model. This power supply meets ATX12V 2.01 & EPS12V 2.11 specifications, and is capable of supporting even the most power hungry single or dual CPU systems.

There are two models in the Powerplus range, a 550W and a 650W, they are designed as hi-performance server class PSU's. Four 12v rails enable optimized power distribution. They use a single rear extraction Sanyo Denki long life twin ball fan with auto speed control. Integral to the design is dual Graphic card support; both 550 & 650W are nVIDIA SLI certified . Six pin power connectors are installed. Dual CPU is also supported, for INTEL Nocona and AMD Opteron. 12V Motherboard power with 4 & 8 pin connectors.

This power supply is a true beast with four (4) 12V rails (conforming to EPS specifications), Active PFC (again, to conform to EPS specs), and plenty of connectors for every device imaginable. NVIDIA SLI certification gives the end user a piece of mind knowing that it will perform with a multi-gpu setup.
