Antec Phantom 350W Fanless Power Supply

A First Look at the Power Supply:

The Antec Phantom comes in an extremely well padded retail style box. This fanless power supply is noticeably heavier than regular power supplies, due to the extruded aluminum casing for heat dissipation.

The Phantom power supply looks like one giant heatsink. It does look a little odd without any fans, and to be honest I was worried about how hot it could get under heavy usage. The power connectors (all gold plated) are the usual quantity: 7 x 4pin, 2 x SATA, 2 x floppy, 24pin ATX, 4pin +12V, and 6pin PCIe. The back of the Phantom features an On/Off switch, voltage switch, power socket, and a blue light strip. Included with the PSU is a 24pin to 20pin ATX adapter, power cable, screws (slightly longer than usual, probably due to the extra weight), and an instruction manual.

This power supply is rated for a minimum of 85% efficiency at full load! Compare that to most other power supplies which are often rated around 65%-75% efficiency. This increase in efficiency means that the power supply can actually save you money on your electric bill, and of course it will generate less heat. Since this power supply is fanless, the less heat the better! During testing the Phantom PSU was barely warm to the touch, the aluminum finned casing definitely does its job dissipating the heat.
