Test Setup:

AMD Test System
Motherboard: EPoX 9NDA3+ (NF3 Ultra)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester)
Cooling: Asetek WaterChill Antarctica
Video Card: Crucial Radeon 9800 Pro
Hard Drives: 2 x Western Digital Caviar 120GB
Optical Drive: Liteon DVD-ROM
Operating System: Windows XP Pro w/SP2

For our testing procedure we take direct readings off the main ATX power connector that connects to the motherboard. We find that using this method is the most accurate way to monitor the voltages coming directly off the power supply. Since this power supply has dual 12V rails, a second reading is taken from a 4pin power connector. For more information on why we test this way, please read this article. Two sets of readings are taken. One set is taken at idle, which which is simulated by letting the computer sit at the desktop while not running any applications. The other set of readings are taken at full load, which is simulated by running a combination of 3DMark & Folding@Home. We monitor the voltages and check for fluctuations as well.

Power is regulated via a 1000VA UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to ensure constant and clean power going into the power supply.

Benchmark Results:

The first set of tests was done with the system running at stock speeds & voltages.

Test Results - Stock Speed - 2.0GHz
  +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2
Idle: 3.32V 4.97V 12.06V 12.06V
Load: 3.31V 4.95V 12.04V 12.05V

The second set of tests was done with the processor overclocked to 2.4GHz and all voltages increased to their maximum BIOS settings.

Test Results - Overclocked - 2.4GHz
  +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2
Idle: 3.31V 4.95V 12.05V 12.05V
Load: 3.31V 4.94V 12.03V 12.04V

As mentioned before, during testing the Phantom PSU was barely warm to the touch, even under full load. However, this was with the PSU sitting on a test bench, when placed in a case proper airflow is a necessity.
