Inside The Case:

As you can see, there is a lot of working room in this case. Unlike my previous case, this one does not have a motherboard tray. It doesn't really affect me since I never really used the one in my old case. The purple things on the side are the fan holders. I really like them because it saves me the effort of having to screw the fans in. I just pop them in and they are just as sturdy. Since the case is a monster, there is no way the power supply can get in the way of my old school Classic Athlon 500. You can also see that all the edges are smooth so that I don't cut my hand open and get blood on my new investment. This is a good thing. The 3.5" drive bay is removable which was really nice for me because I usually have very little fun putting floppy drives in.

Many would think that the front of the case is shaped like that for looks. I looked and found that it is a giant air vent! True enough, I turned on the beast once I had it set up, and could feel air coming out of it. This is a very nice use of space by Antec. Being that I am writing a review for ExtremeOverclocking.com, I decided I should not just have the standard amount of fans in the case, so I went out and got two CoolerMaster 80mm fans to stick in the front fan holders. Once I had everything in and plugged in, I turned on the bad boy and let it run for two hours. I then did some temperature measurements through my BIOS. What I found was a bit strange.

With Two Rear Fans
(Standard)
With Four Fans
(2 Front & 2 Rear)
System Temperature: 28°C
CPU Temperature: 47°C
System Temperature: 31°C
CPU Temperature: 43°C

As you can see, with the extra fans, the CPU temperature went down, but the System Temperature went up. Perhaps this is because the two front fans, block part of the giant air vent? Regardless, the system is still running cooler than my old one, so I like that.

Conclusion:

I really like this case. In fact, I think I am in love with it. It is well worth the money. It is big, sturdy, easy to work in, and attractive. Down the road I hope to get some modifications done to it such as a custom paint job and the normal window mod/black light. Until then, I am going to enjoy having a cooler CPU than my old translucent case could offer. Congratulations to Antec for creating a great case. I am proud to be an owner of one!
