Powering Up:

Last but not least, once everything is installed, the case can be turned on. The front eyes and power switch glow a nice subtle red, and the CCFL gives a cool blue glow from the side.

Conclusions:

CasEdge set out to build the ultimate gamer case, and I believe they achieved it with flying colors. The Diabolic Series is only going to be a limited production run, so get one while you can! The best feature of this case, besides looking like it is from out of this world, is how everything is tool-less. The few rails and screws that are required for the case are self-contained inside so that you won't lose them, a feature that I wish all cases had. Installing and removing hardware was extremely simple and fast, everything just clicks into place.

Front panel USB, firewire, and audio jacks is a nice feature and is very convenient for people who do plug and unplug their joysticks, game pads, digital cameras, digital camcorders, headphones, and other various electronics.

The 120mm fan (and PSU 80mm fan) should provide adequate cooling for the average gamer and enthusiast. The front side has plenty of ventilation to allow cool air to flow in, as well as the side duct above the CPU. If more cooling is desired without modifying the case, a dual or triple fan PSU should help out.

As with any product, there is always room for improvement. If there was a way to get rid of using screws on the hard drives, then it would be a completely tool-less design, or alternately include a little philips head tool that attaches down with the drive rails and screws. Incorporating a reset button and hard drive LED would also be nice (the power LED *could* be used for the HD if needed). Lastly, after showing the case to a few people, some didn't like the little face on the power button, perhaps something a little more generic might of been a better choice. I don't think any of these factors are something that would prevent a person from buying one of these cases, they are all really minor issues.

The Diabolic Series cases should be available in stores, online through Fry's Electronics / Outpost.Com, and other US retailers.
