Interior of the Sileo 500 (Cont):

Installing your hard drive is done by putting the two side rails into the holes of your hard drive and sliding it into place until it clicks. Removal of the hard drive is also easy. Simply squeeze the two clips toward each other and pull the hard drive back out. There are three hard drive bays that mount this way. There are also two other 3.5” bays that can be used for external 3.5” devices or internal. So in theory if you didn’t want a floppy or memory card reader you could put up to five hard drives into this case. The hard drives in this case are actively cooled by the front 120mm intake fan.

Optical drives also use a tool free mounting system in this case. To do this the front panel of the chassis must be removed. This is done by pulling from the bottom of the front panel outward. Once the front panel is off, slide the drive into place and lock it into place using the plastic sliding mechanisms on the side of the case. Then all that is left is to put the panel back on.

It should be said there isn’t a lot of room to hide you cables in the Cooler Master Sileo 500. You don’t really need to in a case that has no windows just so long as the cables aren’t blocking the airflow. I ended up just bundling the PSU wires up and putting them under my optical drives. This should be sufficient for most users, it’s unlikely that they will use five 5.25" bays. I was also surprised to see how easily the paint scratched. I had set a graphics card on the case while doing this review and it scratched quite a bit of paint off.
