Enermax EG475P-VE (24P) Noisetaker ATX 12V v2.0 Power Supply

A First Look at the Power Supply:

Enermax always packages their power supplies in a quality retail style packaging. The box is clearly labeled with the model, wattage, and specifications.

The rear of the PSU has not changed any, there is the power connector, power switch, fan speed adjustment knob, and 80mm exhaust fan. For the most part this EG475P-VE is identical to the EG475AX-VE. Even though there are 4 SATA connectors on the PSU, Enermax includes an adapter for 2 more should you need them. Another important inclusion is the 24pin to 20pin ATX connector. Unless you are using one of the newest Intel or AMD motherboards, chances are you will end up needing to use the adapter.

There are so many cables it is near impossible to get them all nice and straight for a picture. However Enermax does bundle them all nice and near, and some of the cables have sleeves on them. All the connectors are listed in the specifications on the previous page, the most noticeable difference from the ATX v1.4 PSUs being the 24pin main ATX connector, and a 6pin PCI Express connector. Also the old-school AUX connector is gone (I haven't seen it used on desktop boards in many years). Enermax has gone the extra mile with their EMI shielding. The "Core Ring" effectively prevents electro-magnetic pulse leaking from switching power supply to appliances that are being attached to the same power source, i.e. AC wall plug.

Inside the power supply we can see the Enermax quality in design, components, and assembly. Unfortunately there are not any pots for easy voltage adjustment, however that shouldn't be a buying decision for most people. Please note that opening your power supply will void your warranty (and you can possibly harm yourself), so don't do it!
