Taking A Look At The Power Supply (Cont):

The second group of cables includes five (5) 4-pin, two (2) floppy, and two (2) S-ATA connectors. The nice thing about the 4-pin connectors is they are distributed at different lengths along the cables, this accommodates devices that are both near and far from where the PSU is mounted. Having two serial ATA power connectors is also a nice feature, not all S-ATA hard drives include power adapters, so this can be a money saver, as well as a convenience factor. Even if your computer doesn't use S-ATA drives currently, it's always best to plan ahead for possible future upgrades.

Another nice (and sometimes overlooked) feature is the inclusion of a power-switch on the back of the power supply. Instead of having to pull the power cable out of the power supply, it is much more convenient to simply flip the switch.

The fans in the noisetaker PSU keep running for at least 2 minutes (and temperature drops below 40C/104F) after the PC is turned off to help cool down the various system components. While the PC is running, the fans are controlled by a thermostat plus the rheostat mounted on the back of the PSU to maximize cooling and minimizing noise.

The inside of the power supply is very nice and spacious, allowing for excellent airflow over the components. With the dual-fan configuration, the second fan is mounted right above the transformer (pictured in the middle) keeping it cool, and also the two heatsinks that are mounted to either side. There are no potentiometers that could be found on the PCB, some overclockers like to have the ability to adjust the voltage rails to try and squeeze a few more MHz out of a system. While not a necessity (and can be dangerous), it's always a "nice-to-have" option, just incase.
