Interior of the Osiris (cont):

The top of the case has a 120mm exhaust fan that sits above the heatsink to draw air from it. The rear of the case also sports a 120mm fan to exhaust more warm air from the case. Both of these fans are included. The expansion slots are the same one-time removal plate covers that we saw last time in the Anubis. This time however, they included three replacement ones. Mounting PCI devices is as simple as removing one of the thumbscrews, sliding the device in, and screwing it into place. Mounting the power supply on the bottom is nice because you don’t put more heat near the processer. Also included is a removable washable dust filter for the fan on the power supply. The power supply can be mounted upside down or right side depending on the user's preference.

Mounting an optical drive is very smooth process, you slide the drive in and use two of the included thumbscrews and you are done. It can take a bit of work to line it the drive up so it works with the flip down drive covers, but it’s not a deal breaker by any means. The case has foam lined rails built into it that the drives slide on, and also eliminate vibrations. The downside of this is that you cannot mount devices that take multiple drive bays like water-cooling reservoirs.

To mount a hard drive you must first remove the front panel of the case, this done by pulling the front panel of the case from the bottom outward. I have seen this type of setup in other cases, but not with such quality as the Osiris case. The whole front panel is aluminum, not plastic, and the tabs holding it in place are metal, not plastic, thus eliminating the worry of the tabs wearing out and breaking. With the front panel off simply remove the four thumbscrews and the HDD cage slides out. The cage can hold up to four hard drives of standard 3.5 size. The cage also has one 120mm fan to actively cool your HDD as well as acting as an intake for your case. The hard drives are mounted using thumbscrews.

Aside from the motherboard screws, everything else in the case is held in place with thumbscrews making for a nice tool free design. Cable management can be a bit difficult on the the Osiris. You can hide cable under the HDD cage, under the optical drives, and a little bit behind the motherboard tray. The power, reset and LED headers were pretty standard, as were the USB, front audio headers, and e-SATA. All of the cables had sufficient length. The Osiris did not have one sharp edge on it. I ran my finger across the case and had no cuts. This is due to the diamond laser cutting used in the manufacturing process of this case. The material is a thick aluminum thus making it even harder to cut yourself.
