Hiper Type-R 480W Power Supply

The mesh chassis feature was kept, however instead of a nice shiny coating this is simply a mat black finish. Also there is only a single 120mm fan, the rear 80mm fan is not featured on any of the 480W (it's only for the 580W models). However, the main 120mm fan does still stay on after the PC turns itself off to help exhaust the hot air. The rear of the PSU does have a master on/off switch, which is always useful for enthusiasts (as we tend to lock up our PCs while tinkering).

The interior of the 480W model is extremely similar to the 580W, in fact, they use the same main transformer. There are subtle differences however, for instance the main capacitors are slightly smaller capacity, and I noticed a heatsink on the bridge rectifier on the 580W model that doesn't exist on the 480W. Unfortunately I was not able to compare all the various components, however I would expect them to be sized similar to the rest of the parts. As mentioned previously the 2nd 80mm fan is absent, however that is common on all the 480W models. There is also a lot less cable clutter due to the fact that there aren't all the modular plugs mounted on the front of the PSU.

As with the 580W model, I was unable to remove the PCB from the chassis (it would of required clipping wires and just a bunch of work that could potentially damage the PSU). However we can clearly see 12V1 & 12V2 labeled on the PCB. The two wires for 12V2 go to the 4 pin +12V adapter, all other wires are connected to 12V1.
