Meridian XClio 450W & 400W Power Supplies

A First Look at the Power Supply:

The XClio 450W & 400W power supplies come in similar boxes, in fact the only difference is the label on the side indicating the rated wattage. One minor discrepancy on the box & manual is that is says the power supply has "Active PFC", however this errata was caught early on and Meridian immediately sent out notice and has since corrected the labeling. They do sell models with Active PFC in countries which it is required by law. Also, the front of the box shows an 8pin EPS adapter, this connector is only present on 480W & 550W models (ATX boards don't use it anyhow).

Included with the power supply is a basic manual, power cord, 24pin to 20pin adapter, screws, and SCFT adapter. The SCFT adapter is mounted on a PCI bracket and has a single potentiometer to control the fan speed for up to four (4) fans. Each channel (plug) is rated up to six (6) watts. Power is drawn from a special connector coming out of the power supply. When the PC is turned off, the PSU fan and four fans connected to the SCFT adapter will continue to run for 2~3 minutes at a lower voltage (~5V) to help remove all the residual heat inside the PC chassis
