Meridian XClio GreatPower 700W Power Supply

The GreatPower series come in a somewhat unusual looking box. First, the front and back are identical print, also both sides are identical. On the front there is no mention of the "GreatPower" model or wattage of the PSU. To find that info one must refer to the side, which does show the GreatPower Series, and a list of various wattages with the 700W marked. There is the X14 marking all over, which is part of the model number and also to state that the PSU uses a 14cm (140mm) fan, slightly larger than most other PSUs that only use a 12cm (120mm) fan. There is a slight misprint on the box that states there are only three (3) +12V rails, however the 600W, 650W, 700W, and 750W GreatPower series all have four (4) +12V rails.

Included with the PSU is the only the basics: manual, power cord, screws (not pictured), and the modular cables. The manual doesn't really give much help, it is only a few pages and most of that just states the various PSU specifications. The modular cables are very nicely done with mesh sleeving and heat-shrink tubing on the ends. There are two modular PCIe cables, and also two PCIe connectors that are non-modular, giving a total of 4 connectors! Two cable bundles have SATA connectors, while another two have 4-pin peripheral and floppy connectors. Lastly there is an 8pin EPS +12V cable.

As mentioned above, there are two PCIe connectors that are not modular. The main 24-pin (20+4pin detachable style) and 4-pin ATX12V connector are also hard wired (since they are always used). As with the modular cables, the hard wired cables also have mesh sleeving and heat-shrink tubing to keep them nice and tidy.
