OCZ GameXStream 700W Power Supply

Exterior of the OCZ GameXStream 700W:

The GameXStream does not have modular cables, however to give it a nice appearance and keep the cables tidy they are all wrapped in a black mesh sleeving. The power supply features a single clear 120mm ball bearing fan (with blue LEDs) for cooling. Both the chassis and fan grill are a flat black, giving the PSU a very subtle look.

Because the GameXStream has Active PFC, there is no need for a 110/220V selector switch. On the back is simply the main power switch and power connector. The rear grill is the popular honeycomb shape, supposedly it yields the best airflow. On the side of the PSU is the specification sticker and other stickers. In the lower left corner of the power specification sticker there is a table indicating the 12V power distribution among the cables. I traced all the power cabled and verified this table is correct.

The 12V power distribution is as follows:

  • 12V1 (Yellow/Blue) - CPU1 (First 4 pins on ATX12V/EPS12V)
  • 12V2 (Yellow/Green) - CPU2 (Last 4 pins) / PCIe-2
  • 12V3 (Yellow) - Motherboard (24 pin) & Peripherals (SATA, 4 pin molex)
  • 12V4 (Yellow/Black) - PCIe-1
