Exterior of the OCZ ModStream 520W Power Supply:

The chassis of the PSU is titanium plated, giving a very nice shine and also helps isolate EMI. The only downside is fingerprints show up very easily, but can easily be wiped off. The main connector utilizes at 20+4 detachable design, which is becoming the more popular method over using an extra adapter cable. The main cables are about 15" long, and all the other cables are about 17" to the first connector.

The rear of the PSU utilizes a different ventilation pattern than I have seen on other power supplies as this one goes at a 45 angle. Other popular styles is the honeycomb pattern, or just regular squares. The label on the side of the PSU lists all the specifications and certifications for the power supply. The exact model number is located in the upper right corner of the label.

Interior of the OCZ ModStream 520W Power Supply:

At first glance, the interior of the OCZ ModStream is somewhat different than other PSUs we have looked at in the past. For the most part that difference comes from the heatsink design, however underneath those wide aluminum fins is a pretty traditional PSU design. It is kind of hard to see the components with the heatsinks covering everything so well, however from a side shot you can pick out the main group regulation choke (typically for +5V, +12V and -12V), and second choke for +3.3V. This power supply is only rated as having one 12V rail (and it is easy to see all the 12V wires going into a common point on the PCB), so there was no need to check the underside for dual +12V rails (which doesn't exist on this PSU).
