Rosewill Wind Ryder Mid Tower Case

Exterior of the Wind Ryder:

The outside of the Wind Ryder is a flat black. It is a more traditional steel case with a plastic front bezel. The case is free of windows and bright lights which makes it a decent option for a budget HTPC case. The left side panel has air vents for the CPU as well as lower ventilation for your expansion cards.

Moving on to the front of the case you see the door. The door is plastic and is hinged on the left side. There is no option to change this to the opposite side like you see in some higher-end cases. On the right side of the case they have a nice indention in the plastic for you to open the door easier. The door is made of a metal mesh material that reminds me of metal speaker grills. My gripe with the door is it doesn’t open past 90 degrees and it feels a little flimsy. Upon opening the door you see drive bays, there are four (4) 5.25” and two (2) 3.5” bays. Also to the right of the 3.5” bays you see the front USB and audio ports. You can only use these front ports if the door is open. I personally would have liked to have seen top ports on this case.

Below the 3.5” bays you see the power and reset buttons. These can be pressed with the case door opened or closed which is a nice feature. Below the buttons is your front air intake. Also in that area are the power and HDD lights. These have a nice subtle glow and are not overpoweringly bright.

The rear of the case is pretty standard. On the top we see a mount for a power supply. Below that we have the I/O ports for the motherboard. To the right we have the 120mm fan exhaust. Below those are the seven (7) PCI slots. The I/O area is pretty sharp so be careful when installing your I/O port cover. The bottom of the case has two front rubber feet and two rear metal feet.
