The SilenX PSU comes wrapped in plastic and packed in a box full of peanuts (at least our PSU did). Also included is a PSU power cable. There was no mounting hardware included with the PSU. You will notice the SilenX PSU has an ON/OFF rocker switch on the back. There is also an 80mm Hypro Bearing Exhaust Fan in the back of the PSU, rated at <14db. This is by far the quietest rating we have ever seen on a PSU. The fan is also rated at .07A (Amps) and .84W (Watts).

The SilenX 400W PSU does include six IDE connectors, one floppy connector, a 6-pin auxiliary connector, a 4-pin connector, and a 20-pin ATX connector. The lack of a second floppy connector can be a problem if you have 2 floppy drives or even another device, like a fanbus or a bay drive for an Audigy sound card. So if you purchase the SilenX 400W PSU, make sure that you have the appropriate adapters to meet all the power requirements of your PC. Another drawback is that the maximum length of one of the IDE molex connectors is 21", which may cause this PSU to have some issues with larger full tower cases.

The 80mm Hypro Bearing Exhaust Fan, which is temperature controlled, is the only fan drawing air from the SilenX 400w PSU. This is the only fan needed in the system due to the fact that the front of the PSU (as pictured above) is really open for improved air flow. You will also see in the pictures below, that the PSU has massive heatsinks. So let's have a look at the inside of the SilenX 400w PSU.
