SilverStone Lascala 10M Home Theater (HTPC) Case

LC-10M First Looks:

In traditional SilverStone style, the LC-10M case is constructed with 1.0mm SECC steel, with an aluminum front panel. The front of the case is sleek and stylish, subtle is the key when trying to design something to fit in with home theater equipment. The case comes with three fans, two are 60mm exhaust fans, one is an 80mm front intake fan. One drawback about this case is the lack of a tool-less design, which at the very least seeing some thumbscrews for easy removal of the case panel would have been nice. All the usual accessories are included, this model has a built-in iMON display, and includes a driver/software CD and remote. I did notice there was some information missing from the included manual about the iMON connectors inside the case, however an instructional PDF can be found on the CD or web site which explained everything in detail.

On the left side of the case is the power and reset buttons, along with blue power and hard drive LEDs. There are four front USB 2.0 ports, and along the side is a single Firewire port and audio jacks.

The right side of the case allows for a single exposed CD/DVD drive, SilverStone includes a matching aluminum plate and double sided tape to give the drive a clean look and flush mount. Along both the left and right sides of the case are vent holes allowing cool air to be drawn in the case. There are also small slits along the bottom-front and left-front of the case allowing more ventilation.
