Sunbeamtech NUUO 550W Power Supply

A First Look at the Power Supply:

The NUUO Power Supply comes in a nice retail box with all sorts of information covering each side. Kind of a funny side note, on the front of the box right below the killer whale picture is the text "killer whale", why it is there I do not know. Anyhow, the sticker on the front clearly indicates the 550W model, further labeling on the side gives specifics on the exact options for the PSU.

Included with the power supply is a manual, screws, and temperature monitor fan controller device. Sunbeam has included tons of cables to suit just about any conceivable need. Each connector has a different style plug into the PSU, so there can be no mix-up when hooking things up. An added bonus to the true enthusiast, two cables (for your video card) have EMI shielding & capacitors to help deliver clean power to those crucial devices. One downside is that all the pins are tin-plated, not the higher-quality gold plating that is starting to become common on many high end motherboards & power supplies.

The "Temperature Monitor Fan Controller" is a little added bonus for this power supply. By connecting to the various ports on the PSU, this little device displays the temperature and allows for automatic or manual fan control of a single fan inside the PSU. While it does seem "cool" to look at and fidget with, the actual usefulness is somewhat questionable.
