Sunbeamtech NUUO 550W Power Supply

Performance Summary & Final Conclusions:

Sunbeamtech's NUUO 550W would be a worthy power supply for even the most demanding PC. It is modular, has a little temperate display / fan controller, and is NVIDIA SLI Certified. Voltages usually stayed within 2-3% tolerance, even under near-full load (532W). The higher temperature rating for the components should ensure proper performance even under the harshest conditions. Being a modular power supply, it is nice to see that the number of connectors match the number of cables. I have seen other modular PSUs short-change the user on available power plugs, thus they can't use all the cables that are provided (which makes zero sense).

This PSU is not without its flaws however. I think it would have made better sense to make the +12V 4pin/8pin power a fixed cable instead of being modular. Also using gold-plated pins on all the connectors would have been preferred, especially since this is a modular PSU. Lastly, I think the little temp display / fan controller should be reconsidered, either by expanding it's capabilities or removing it altogether.

Those minor issues aside, this PSU appears to be quite a contender against some of the more popular brand names currently available.
