Exterior of the TT-550K14:

The large 14cm single fan provides excellent airflow while maintaining a low noise level, and has 4 blue LEDs embedded in it. On the rear of the power supply is the main power connector, input voltage switch, On/Off power switch, and 3-stage fan RPM switch.

The 3-stage fan switch allows the power supply fan(s) speed to adjust from "Silent", "Auto", or "Turbo". Most users will prefer to set it at silent or auto to keep the noise level to a minimum. With the Silent setting, if the PSU temperature increases past the recommended temperature, it will switch to the Auto setting automatically to ensure stability and prevent overheating. The brightness of the fan varies with the fan RPM, the higher the speed, the brighter the LEDs.

Another neat feature with this power supply is that after the system is turned off, the fan will continue to run for 5 minutes (and one of the LEDs on the rear of the PSU will blink to indicate this mode). This prevents heat from building up inside the case after shutdown, and helps to prolong the life of the PC.

Looking from the bottom of the power supply, it is easy to see the 14cm fan consumes almost the entire side. The label on the side of the PSU displays all the various voltage specifications and model number. Another label shows the fan speed in relation to the temperature (this chart is also in the manual).

The key differentiating feature of the PLUG-N series are the six power connectors for the various peripherals in a PC. A big warning sticker below the connections states that you should only connect / remove a cable when the power is turned off. By connecting only the cables that are needed, one can reduce "cable clutter" inside the case.

The primary 24pin BTX connector, +12V connector, and fan RPM cable are permanently affixed like a regular power supply setup, since it can be assumed that these connections will always be used I suppose. Each of the 4pin power connectors utilize an easy-disconnect feature, by simply squeezing the connector it makes removal a breeze. I did run into one issue with my video card, because the connector sits flush on the PCB, the dedicated power supply cable for the video card would not fit properly. An easy work-around was to use the Y adapter included with my video card, however another route could have been to clip half of the easy-disconnect plastic off. I think a smarter idea would have been to simply use a regular 4pin connector for the dedicated VGA cable to avoid these issues.
