Looking at the Power Supply:

Let us take a look at the power supply. This PSU like all the other TTGI's we have reviewed in the past comes with the mounting hardware, a power cable, manual, and of course the power supply. The power supply has a 20-pin ATX motherboard connector as well as a 4-pin connector for Pentium 4 motherboards as well as some of the newer AMD boards. There are six 4-pin Molex connectors to power fans, hard drives, case lighting, and other various parts that run off of the 12v line. There are two floppy connectors and one 6-pin auxiliary connector.

The 350ss comes equipped with two 80mm ball bearing fans. There is a switch that allows the user to change the fan speeds. The selectable settings are low, high, and automatic. Automatic is regulated by the power supply and will push more air if the PSU gets hot and vice versa. The fans push enough air to cool the power supply in the automatic setting which is also the most quiet mode. The fans are all covered by a gold colored fan grill for safety reasons. The placement of the fans is recommended in AMD's System Cooling Guidelines. Additionally, TTGI is on AMD's recommended list of power supply manufacturers.

Taking off the outside cover of the power supply, we can see the main components of the power supply. The first thing that we noticed different about this unit compared to the other TTGI's we have reviewed is the use of a much smaller heat sink and smaller capacitors. The use of these components is okay considering the power supply produces only a max of 350 watts. Also inside of the power supply, there is a potentiometer that allows for adjusting the 5V and 12V lines simultaneously. This is helpful for when the power supply is not providing the proper voltages. One thing to note is that if the cover is taken off of the power supply, the warranty is voided. By looking at the overall design of this power supply, it was not made for the high-end systems that require lots of power. We would consider this more for the average user.
