Taking A Look At The Power Supply:

The Quadruple Fan 520ss comes with all the same features usually found in TTGI products. The power supply has a 20-pin ATX connector as well as the 4-pin connector for Intel motherboards as well as the newer AMD boards. It has 10 4-pin power connectors for the hard drives, CD-ROM’s, case fans, etc. and 2 floppy connectors. There is also an auxiliary 6-pin connector.

An interesting thing that is on this power supply that you do not see ever is the use of a four fan setup. This is a little redundant but if a fan ever goes out you still have three in place of it. Also having this many fans should technically help to keep the power supply cool and extend the life of the components within it. There are two 60mm fans on the bottom of the PSU and an 80mm in the front and an 80mm in the back as well. You would think having this many fans would produce a lot of noise but it really is not that loud. The back 80mm fan also has LEDs on it to produce a colorful rainbow color coming off the back of the PSU. I do not really care too much if anyone sees the back of my case but it still looks cool.

A switch controls the fans on the power supply. There are three options, Auto, Low, and High. At auto, the fans are relatively quiet. When in auto mode the power supply will adjust the speed of the fans according to how hot the PSU gets. At low, the fans were a little bit louder and at high, the fans were loud enough to where it could be too loud for some users. We found that the Auto setting was the best mode and suited most of our needs so it was quiet.

In addition, TTGI is on the list of AMD supported power supplies.

For the most part, this power supply is just like the one reviewed here but this one has four fans and has an LED mod.

One last nice feature on this power supply is that is has a potentiometer to adjust the 5V and 12V lines. The upside to this is that the user has the ability to increase the voltage on the lines if there voltages are a little low but the downside is that the pot controls both the 5V and the 12. So any time the user wants to adjust one, the other has to go up or down with it. Even though most power supplies do not come with adjustable pot, we feel that TTGI could start to use separate pots for each line like the ones we have seen in PC Power and Cooling power supplies.
