Installation of the VapoChill (cont):

Now I placed my motherboard back onto my case's removable motherboard tray and reinstalled the tray. Now everything has been prepared for assembly and I place my case on top of the VapoChill and secure it with the 4 thumbscrews. Next, the clamshell/evaporator assembly is slid down over the 4 guides on the motherboard and secured with a spring, spacer, and thumbscrew on each guide. The new clamshell design is beneficial here because the old retention mechanism had issues with alignment of the evaporator head on the processor. The clamshell insulating blocks hold the evaporator securely in the correct alignment over the processor. Just to be sure of good contact, I removed the clamshell from the guides to see if there was an even imprint in the thermal compound from the processor. There was, so I reattached the clamshell the same way as the first time.

For the last part of the installation I installed the Chill Control board. I used the four self-adhesive mounting clips to secure the board to the bottom of my case, connected the two cables that protrude from the VapoChill (these are the LCD display and CC3 connect cables), connected the USB cable from the USB header on my motherboard to the corresponding connector on the Chill Control board, connected the blue/white power switch cable to the power switch header on my motherboard and the power switch cable from my case to the corresponding connector on the Chill Control board, connected the 2 socket heating element cables to two of the "heater" connectors, and lastly plugged a molex connector from my power supply into the Chill Control board. The connection of all these cables is a very important procedure and the connectors need to be aligned correctly as per the instructions.

Here are a couple final shots of the completed assembly. The case I am using is slightly longer that the VapoChill and I just offset the rounded front panel of the case out in front of the VapoChill a bit.

Now all that remains is to plug in the power cable and fire it up.
