Swiftech MCW5000-P Water Block

Introduction:

With increased heat being generated by new generation processors, and the noise produced by standard air-cooling solutions, enthusiasts and overclockers must look to specialty cooling setups to meet their needs. When a balance between very efficient cooling, low noise level, and reasonable cost is needed, water cooling is the only way to go. Today I'll be taking a look at a Swiftech H20-8500 Water Cooling Kit that has been designed with these needs in mind, and offers great ease of installation and use.

First Looks at the Kit:

The kit arrived in a large plain cardboard box with tons of little boxes and bags of goodies packed very well inside. The fill/bleed assembly and bottle of HydrX coolant were bubble-wrapped, and the water block and radiator were in small boxes with Styrofoam pads. Included in the package were 1 installation guide, 1 MCR80-F radiator with 2 fans, 1 MCW5000-P water block with mounting hardware, 1 FBK525 Fill/Bleed Assembly with MCP300 pump, 1 bottle HydrX coolant additive, several coils of 3/8 inch ID tubing, 1 PSU relay kit, 1 power cord, and a small bag of mixed accessories. Looking at the full array of items, I was very happy at how well designed the kit was, with everything you could possibly need for a water cooling system (short of water itself).

Their entry level laptop has now dropped to just $399 folks. This is a brand new computer, not refurbished or reconditioned or regenerated or whatever. It has a 15.4" WXGA screen that does give you a free upgrade to the TrueLife display (be sure to check it off) while an upgrade to 2GB of memory, if you'd like, is just $50. I would upgrade the battery if you do plan on using it on the road regularly to the 6 cell for $50. As I've said before, these notebooks are getting cheaper and cheaper and at $399, it's practically disposable. Almost. DELL VOSTRO 1000 LAPTOP DEAL
