TennMax Lasagna BGA Cooler:

First Test:

The main reason I wanted these coolers was to see how well it performed on my Geforce board. I also wanted to see how well it would work on my BP6 keeping the northbridge chip cool. So without further wait, here's the BGA cooler mounted on my Guillemot 3D Prophet DDR-DVI...

It fits on there very nicely I would say. The cooler is so compact that you don't loose a PCI slot unlike most other video coolers out there on the market. It came with a thermal pad mounted on the back, so we tested it with and without the pad. (The thermal pad was a bitch to scrape off) We also used some of the Artic Silver thermal compound from The Cooling Store when we took off the thermal pad, this stuff has proven to be the best out there, and it is NOT electrically conductive!

Geforce 256 Cooling:

Ambient Temp 80°F

BGA w/Thermal Pad - Full Load 134.2°F
BGA w/Thermal Pad - Idle 119.1°F

BGA w/Thermal Grease - Full Load 130.3°F
BGA w/Thermal Grease - Idle 116.6°F

Before you say, "Ouch that's hot!" remember the size of these coolers & the heat that the original Geforce 256 puts out! Yes, there are other coolers out there that will keep your video card below 100°F but you will loose at least one to two PCI slots. This cooler has the advantage of being compact where you won't loose any PCI slots if you really need them, but at the same time it is at a loss because it doesn't have the sheer mass that other video coolers have.
