The number to pay attention to would be the Delta T, which is basically just the CPU temp minus the Ambient temp. The lower the number, the better the cooling.

Performance Summary & Final Conclusions:

The XP-90C does have a slight edge over it's predecessor, the XP-90. As mentioned before, the XP-90C is all copper, whereas the XP-90 has a copper base (nickel plated) with aluminum fins. The difference in weight is also very noticeable, the XP-90 weighs 360 grams, and the XP-90C almost doubles that at a whopping 690 grams. Fan choice really boils down to the performance & noise level that the end user is looking for. Some of the highest CFM fans are the Tornado series and are very popular with enthusiasts for maximum cooling, but are extremely noisy at a rated 56.4dBA.

I think market demand for the XP-90C was more for looks and bragging rights than actual cooling performance increase (we are talking about 1-2 degrees difference), as the performance of the XP-90 is very solid too and much less expensive. I have to be honest though, I really like the all copper design, it gets your attention more than plain old aluminum. When you look at the XP-90C you can't help but think, "Oooo... that's all copper.... sweeeet!"

If you want one of the best heatsinks available on the market today, the XP-90C is a no-brainer. However, if you need something slightly more affordable, the regular XP-90 is still a good buy.
