Temperature Results:

*Note: The CPU was unable to run at 230FSB stable with the Intel retail heatsink, and had to be backed down to 220FSB (3.52GHz) for testing.

Temperatures with the XP-90 on average were about 10 degrees lower or more than the Intel Retail heatsink. Now all this will vary based on your processor and fan that you pair up with the XP-90.

The fan that Thermalright recommends is a Panaflo 92mm 48CFM 30dBA (model number and more info on the specs page), which the closest we had was a 49CFM Sunon. There are 92mm fans available with over 110CFM rating, which if you want maximum air cooling then it is definitely the way to go and will surely yield even lower temperatures. However that cooling comes at a cost of noise, over 55dBA, which can be very uncomfortable. There are also a lot of speed-adjustable fans which are very popular, so the PC can run near-silent while working or just surfing the net, then while gaming or other CPU intensive tasks the fan speed can be increased for additional cooling.
