Testing On The AMD Platform:

Test System #2

CPU: AMD Athlon XP2000 (Unlocked)
Memory: GEIL PC3500 512MB
CPU Cooling: Thermalright AX-7
Video Card: Visiontek GeForce 4 TI4600
Power Supply: TTGI 520ss
Tests: SiSoftware Sandra Standard 2002 SP1

After the great results I had on the Intel machine I wanted to see how the memory did on my AMD motherboard. For all tests I used SPD vaules. I first tested at 266mhz. I had no compatibility issues and the ram was running fine. I also noticed that Sandra reported that I was at CAS 2.5 this time. This was strange after the issue on the Intel rig but not a big deal.

266 MHz DDR:

Then I went on to 333mhz. Again the memory was running good.

333 MHz DDR:

Now I was interested in the max speed since JEDEC only supports up to DDR333 PC2700. 400mhz seemed like a good start. Issues with AMD rigs though at these high bus speeds are the AGP/PCI clocks. Unlike the Intel Rig I can't lock the AGP/PCI. I can only use a divider. For this I had to use the 1/5. Even still running your AGP/PCI out of spec can create instability issues which can limit your overclock. I knew the motherboard could handle a bus of 200 because I have already run at these speeds before. The memory ran fine at 400mhz using 2.9V. My mother board is volt-modded so I couldn't lower the voltage.

400 MHz DDR:
