Introduction:

GeIL just recently popped up around the memory scene last year. They came into the market with some good memory. The last review we did of a GeIL module was very impressive for its time and still is today. Today we are looking at the PC3500 Ultra Platinum Series from GeIL. The difference between this module and the other PC3500 that we tested is that this uses 4.5 ns memory compared to the 5 ns memory that the regular PC3500 uses.

Examining the Memory:

Looking at the memory the first thing that we noticed is the heat spreader with GeIL’s logo on it. The heat spreader is made of tin-coated platinum copper. It looks very shiny and reflective. It is almost just like a mirror. This has to be some of the finest looking memory regardless of how it performs. The memory is also very heavy from the heat spreaders weight. The PC3500 Ultra Platinum, like all other GeIL memory, comes in a large plastic box, which makes it extra safe during shipping or transporting anywhere. The memory is backed by a lifetime warranty and comes in both 256 and 512 modules.
