Conclusions:

After reviewing these modules, we are left somewhat puzzled. The memory did not overclock as high as we thought it would, especially considering our past experiences with GeIL memory. 480MHz is only 14MHz higher than the rated speed of 466MHz. Lately the different memories we have tested have easily been able to go beyond 480MHz and even into the 500MHz range. This leads us to believe that maybe are particular sticks were just not great overclockers or possibly flawed. We cannot say that all the Golden Dragon series overclocks bad because we can only speak for the modules in our testing facilities. A number of other factors are involved as well, such as the motherboard and processor. Maybe our board and the BIOS that we used did not agree with the Golden Dragon PC3700.

The positive things that we can say from this experience is that the memory was totally stable at the rated speed of 466MHz. At this speed the system is still fast but for the most extreme overclockers, it may not be enough. The memory looks great, performs well, and comes very nicely packaged. Overclocked to 480MHz, the memory was still 100% stable even though we had to use 2.85V. This is not a bad overclock but under what we had expected considering our past experiences with GeIL. In addition, do not forget that GeIL does offer a lifetime warranty on their memory, so if anything goes wrong you can always have it replaced. So overall, if you are looking for some stable memory for your dual channel setup with some decent overclocking, we can recommend the GeIL Golden Dragon PC3700. If you are looking for the highest overclocking results you might want to try some different memory.
