Conclusions:

The Kingston HyperX memory runs great at 500MHz but our sample modules would not overclock much higher, making it to 506MHz DDR. This brings up an interesting point, just because this memory is designed to run at PC4000 speeds does not mean it will be able to overclock a lot higher. You have to keep in mind that this memory is already "overclocked" since current standards only recognize PC3200. Maybe the Kingston memory just has a problem with our ABIT board but we will do some more testing on the ASUS P4C800 just to double check.

For now, we can say that HyperX 4000 is very stable at 500MHz and performs well. Until we can verify if the memory has an issue with our board, it is hard to say how it overclocks. From our testing it does not overclock very well but the average overclocker should not be too upset running DDR500. The extreme overclockers may want to look elsewhere. Price wise (according to www.newegg.com) the Kingston memory is about $15 cheaper than the OCZ and Corsair PC4000 modules. Also Kingston's memory is backed by a lifetime warranty making it a good buy.

Overall: 8/10
