Examining the Memory:

This memory is rated to run at 433 MHz DDR using 2.5-3-3 2T timings and uses 5ns chips. These are not the best timings but this is the basic series. OCZ also has the EL series, which stands for Enhanced Latency and can do timings that are more aggressive. The memory comes in a plastic box with a set of installation instructions, which is nice for those who need them.

Copper heat spreaders are used on these modules to help keep the memory chips cool. The memory does get warm at times when using high voltages and running at high speed but for the most part, heat spreaders are a standard for most PC3500 modules from any manufacturer.

The PC3500 Basic series is available in 256 or 512 modules. To top it off they are all backed by a lifetime warranty. Looking up the pricing on these modules at Newegg.com reveals that they are $55.00 (USD) for a 256 module. This is a very competitively priced and is much lower than some of the other PC3500 available from other manufacturers. Does the price dictate its performance and overclocking?
