The OCZ PC4000 EL dual channel kit comes packaged in a clear plastic case with a sticker that displays the OCZ logo. It also says that there is a limited lifetime warranty. Here are some details of this warranty and you can go visit OCZ's website for even more information concerning the warranty.

"OCZ Technology Group offers Limited Lifetime Warranty on all Memory Modules.

All OCZ Technology memory modules have been thoroughly tested and, when shipped, are free of defects in material and workmanship. OCZ Technology, shall immediately replace this product, if any malfunction should occur, at no charge, provided the following:

- Modules must have an original OCZ Technology Label, and an OCZ branded heatspreader, when applicable.
- The product or any part thereof has not been abused, misused, damaged, neglected, replaced, repaired tampered with or modified.
- The product was properly installed and used in its recommended environment. OCZ Technology shall make the final determination as to the existence and cause of any defect.
- You have contacted support for proper instructions and an RMA number."

PC4000 EL series uses all copper heatspreaders. They look great and copper is a very good conductor of heat. We have said it many times, but here goes again. Heatspreaders may prolong the life of the units and may even benefit in overclocking. If you plan on using high voltages and really pushing the memory to the limits then heatspreaders are a nice feature to have. Since they are all copper, the memory weighs quite a bit more than say Kingston or another manufacturer that uses aluminum. In the center on the front and the back of each heatspreader, you can see the OCZ logo is actually imprinted in the heatspreader. Cosmetically, this is some of the nicest looking memory available on the market.

On the left side of the memory is a sticker that indicates that these are 256MB PC4000 EL Dual Channel Beta sticks. Dual channel memory kits from OCZ are all tested on motherboards featuring dual channel at their rated speeds. You can go here for more information on their testing and qualification. This ensures quality control and makes sure that when the memory is run in pairs that they will operate at the proper speed.

An aspect about OCZ that we really like is their motherboard qualification guide. Here you can look up your board and see what OCZ has to say about it from their testing. They have some detailed information concerning overclocking and it is very accurate (we will prove it later). They even have some tips about their memory and specific mainboards.
