PMI3200-1024DPL - Test Setup:

Test Systems

Motherboard:

Chaintech 9CJS Zenith (875P)

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz ES (Unlocked)
Video Card:

ATI 9700 Pro

Power Supply: PC Power and Cooling 475W ATX
Hard Drive: Maxtor D740X 40GB
Operating System: Windows XP Pro w/SP1

For our testing we used an Intel 3.2C ES (engineering sample) processor The reason for this is that it allows us to adjust the multiplier and keep the CPU speed at a reasonable level. The lower multiplier helps to achieve much higher FSB's (well over 290MHz) since we will also be overclocking the CPU. The Chaintech motherboard actually runs a couple MHz faster than what is set for the FSB, so please pay attention to the actual FSB in the pictures. Also, the lowest DDR voltage the Chaintech 9CJS motherboard allows is 2.65v (default), and the highest is 2.95v, so please keep this in mind.

For our testing procedure, we used MemTest86 to check for stability and SiSoft Sandra 2004 SP1 for our benchmarks. Also if we say "stable", it means that the memory was stable through endless loops of MemTest86. If the memory could not run through MemTest86 without giving errors, we did not even bother to boot into windows and run the benchmarks.

When testing memory, there are a million different ways one can test it, timings, voltages, FSB, all play an important role. Since this memory is targeted as "low latency", we will try to keep the timings as tight as possible, increasing voltage before changing timings when overclocking.

For this memory we will only report the results at two different speeds:
 - 800FSB/DDR400 - the highest stock speed supported on 875/865 motherboards.
 - Highest Stable Overclock - the highest settings we could achieve with the memory being tested.
