Introduction:

Mini LCD displays are becoming more and more popular, each year the prices continue to drop. However, the companies who are making these LCD panels specifically for computers have not yet started making COLOR LCD panels. Because of this lack of resources specifically made for computers, we geeks have to branch out: this is where Parts Express comes into play! They make this 5” Color Ultra-Thin LCD for cars. All of us know that both the car and the PC have a 12V line; this means that the LCD can be powered from our PC PSU.

What is the point?

If you are running a server and do not want to waste money on buying a monitor that you will only use probably once a week then you will definitely see the value here. As a second value, you can add this to your MP3 server, and execute your favorite Winamp plugins full screen on this LCD for a cool look. Third, you could even use this LCD to build a Nintendo into your case for even more fun at LAN parties. Last, as you will see in a later review, this LCD can make an excellent computer-powered, voice-controlled GPS Navigational system. This review, however, will focus on the server aspect. I am going to show you not only how to install this LCD, but how to install the software needed to remotely administer your server.
