Another Shim Review?:

Recently I was contacted by a company I never heard of before, Thermalphobia, to see if I would like to try out their line of copper shims. Always liking to try out something new I agreed, and a week or so later they arrived in my mail. Each shim came individually sealed in a little packet, and when I opened them to examine them closer, they were completely flawless in appearance.

One thing about the Thermalphobia shims is that they have their company name & logo engraved in them. Reading their brochure I discovered that companies can get their own name & logo engraved in them when ordering from Thermalphobia (I'm guessing there is a minimum quantity to order). Also they have gold flashed shims (Intel only), which is kind of nice because then your shim won't oxidize.

On the AMD shim, you can tell they paid close attention to detail, giving ample clearance around areas that the shim should not touch. Their design takes into consideration the close proximity of the SMD resistors to the edge of the holes, so they chamfered the bottom side to help avoid any shorts.
