Jetart NP6600 Foldable Notebook Cooler

A First Look at the NP6600:

The Jetart NP6600 comes in a slim retail package that is clearly labeled. Various features and specifications are on the back of the box. The instructions & pictures on how to use the NP6600 are also on the back.

The design is simplistic, yet extremely functional. With the package you get the main NP6600 unit, and a USB cable that provides power to the fans. One downside is the power cable is not a pass-thru design, so you will loose the use of a USB port. There are a lot of notebooks on the market that only have two (like mine), or even a single USB port, so careful consideration must be taken to determine if it is an acceptable loss of a port to power the fans. Yes, you can pull the cable out if you need to temporarily use the USB port (for something like a card reader) without any problems.

Unfolding the NP6600 effectively doubles the surface area, making it the same size as any other notebook cooler. Two rubber feet flip up to help lift the notebook away from the cooler so air can flow freely. The bottom size of the notebook cooler reveals two hidden compartments, perfect for storing the USB power cable and other accessories. Two more feet flip out to raise the cooler up from the ground so air can be drawn in through the fans. Near the top right corner is a power LED so you know when the unit is on. This placement doesn't make a lot of sense since the notebook will be covering the LED when in use.

On the side is the main power switch to turn the fans on and off. The rear of the cooler has the power plug, and an adjustable fan dial. At full speed the fans are extremely silent and obviously move the most air, I never bothered to run the fans for any extended period of time at slower speeds.

An unfortunate side-effect of any notebook cooler is that it raises the notebook off the ground and at a slight angle. It can be awkward at first, but eventually you get used to it.
