To LCD or not to LCD? That is the Question:

LCD monitors have been making a rather large insurgence into the computer display market as of late, and Samsung is leading the hoard. LCD monitors now dominate most office spaces and many executive's desktops. The LCD market has grown substantially over the past year, mostly due to many manufacturers placing them in mass production. Thanks to this increase, the prices have dropped into a more acceptable level while quality has risen. LCD monitor technology has come a long way since it was first introduced, gone are the days of only being able to see the screen dead on, and washed out looking colors. Current LCD monitors like Samsung's 173T have a large available viewing angle and rich colors.

The main problem many people have with LCD monitors is that they are not sized in the same fashion as a standard CRT. A 17" LCD monitor has 17" (diagonal) of viewable space, while a 17" CRT will have generally about 16" (diagonal). This leads to some confusion when going to purchase an LCD display.

Samsung has been producing high quality LCD monitors for many years, and would say that they are a pioneer in this market. While the 173T that we are looking at today is not any type of new technological break through, it is setting the standard for top quality LCD monitors.
