Overclocking:

Overclocking results with this motherboard were good. We got up to 270 FSB. This is right where our CPU topped out on the IC7-G. The limitation is definitely because of the CPU heat. We even tried lowering the memory speed but it did not help to go any higher. Regardless we got over a 1GHz FSB overclock within 15 minutes of testing. That is just how easy it was to overclock with the IS7.

Performance gains from the overclocked system are obvious. Running at our overclocked speed of 270 gave us nice scores in SiSoft Sandra 2003.We have no reason to believe that the board could not go any higher. In fact the board will probably go well over 300 FSB with the right CPU and cooling. The AGP/PCI and FSB/DRAM ratios really help to keep those components from bottlenecking the rest of the system. Beginning overclockers and the more experienced with both be able to easily use the Soft Menu 3 and produce some nice results.
