Chaintech ZNF3-150 Box

Chaintech has done very well in the past with creating motherboards designed on the latest chipsets. If you remember from reading articles about the Chaintech Reloaded event, they told us that they were focusing mainly on the high end market and budget represented in a hourglass figure. Zenith represents the top end of their product line. The 9CJS Zenith we reviewed awhile back was one of the faster 875P boards and was loaded with tons of features. Today we get the opportunity to take a look at their latest high end motherboard for AMD Socket 754 processors, the Chaintech ZNF3-150 Zenith.

The ZNF3-150 Zenith is based on NVIDIA's nForce3 chipset, which is on a single-chip architecture. This is much different from the typical North Bridge and South Bridge common to many types of motherboards. This allows for lower system latency and less power consumption. This is one of the major differences between nForce 3 and VIA's K8T800. The NVIDIA chipset also brings a lot of features to the ZNF3-150 as we will show you later.

Competition between VIA and NVIDIA have been heating up as of late due to the latest Athlon 64 processors. Users will have a hard time deciding on which chipset will be better for their system and needs. Some manufacturers have been designing boards based on both chipsets in order to target more of the market. Who will win has yet to be determined.
