Foxconn 865A01-PE-6EKRS - 865PE Motherboard

BIOS Setup:

At first glance, the 865A01-PE-6EKRS BIOS seems like any other Phenoix-Award setup, however after navigating through a few menus it becomes clear that this BIOS has a few tricks up its sleeve. The first menu that was unique was the BIOS Features, with options such as SuperBoot, SuperBIOS-Protect, SuperRecovery, and SuperSpeed (all these mentioned on the previous page).

Unfortunately the SuperSpeed setting only allows for up to 232FSB to set in the BIOS, however using the SuperStep (windows program) allows for higher FSB speeds to be chosen. Besides overclocking ability, the memory timings are fully adjustable, and also a memory divisor is available if you memory can't support at 1:1 ratio.

The SATA ports can be disabled in the BIOS (and are by default). However if enabled they are fully configurable, the user manual covers the SATA settings for people who are unfamiliar with how SATA works with PATA.

The PC Health Status screen shows all the various system vitals, and also allows for enabling a warning & shutdown temperature should the CPU get too hot. Lastly on the Frequency/Voltage control screen we can see there are only a couple options, neither of which allow for adjusting CPU or memory voltages. It's a shame this MB has such great overclocking potential but not voltage adjustments, perhaps in a future BIOS it will be added in.
