925XE7AA-8EKRS2 Board Layout:

Being a 925XE Express chipset, this motherboard only supports DDR2 memory (some people like, some people don't), and also it supports PAT for better memory performance. The DIMM slots are color coded for dual-channel operation supporting a maximum of 4GB of RAM. Below the DIMM slots is the 24pin main power connector, with the additional +12V connector near the rear I/O ports. A single floppy & ATA/100 header are also present in this quadrant of the motherboard.

Near the ICH6R Southbridge are four SATA-150 headers (controlled by the Southbridge), next to those are two ATA/133 headers (powered by an ITE controller), and four additional SATA-150 connectors along the edge of the motherboard (powered by a Silicon Image controller). All of the hard drive channels support RAID 0, 1, or 1+0.

A single PCI Express x16 slot is used for video graphics, with three additional PCIe x1 slots for other devices. Three regular PCI slots are also present on the board. Foxconn has chosen to give this board dual gigabit Ethernet ports via two Broadcom chips. 7.1 High-Def audio is supplied by a Realtek ALC880 chip.

The rear I/O configuration is pretty well though-out, with most ports in standard locations. There are the usual PS/2 ports for keyboard & mouse, along with a parallel & serial port. Both Ethernet ports are present, along with four USB 2.0 ports and a firewire port. The six audio ports can be configured according to the user's speaker setup, or the SPDIF port can be used. Two PCI brackets with additional USB & Firewire connections are also included. By utilizing standard headers on the motherboard for these additional ports, it allows the flexibility for users that have cases with front USB & Firewire ports.
