Quake 3 Area is an "oldie but goodie" program that also is helps test overall systems performance. The program we use to run the tests are Q3Bench, which runs the tests in a batch format using different resolutions and with standardized visual settings.

As you can see from most of our testing, running the memory in Dual Channel mode does provide for better performance. Even though in some tests it was a very small gain, overall any gain is welcome. Though it might not be apparent at stock speeds, the results should get much better at higher FSB’s. The one test that does show the highest gain from dual channel mode is the Quake 3 benchmark. There is obviously much better performance. Even though we did score higher in every test while in dual channel mode, it still is not an amazing chipset but one that performs very well.
