Introduction:

Shuttle is a well known motherboard manufacturer among the community. More recently you may know them from their very successful XPC line, which revolutionized the small form factor industry. Today, we are not going to be looking at their XPC line but a motherboard based on the Intel 865PE chipset. The 865PE chipset supports many nice features such as Serial ATA, 800 MHz FSB, and dual 64-bit memory controllers. So far, this chipset has been a great success for motherboard manufacturers as well as Intel.

We have done quite a few reviews on motherboards based on the i865PE and i875P chipsets. Let us look at the Shuttle AB60/RS to see what it brings to the table. We will also see how it compares to all of the 865PE and 875P motherboard we have reviewed. Usually, performance is pretty close to the same for motherboards based on the same chipset. So for this review we will focus more on the features bundled with the board as well as the onboard features. Besides, who really notices the difference in performance between two motherboards on the same chipset?
