Quick & Dirty...

At first glance ABIT's SlotKET looks like the rest of the crowd, sporting many jumpers to control all sorts of things. A quick run down of the spec's reveals:

• Converts PPGA/FC-PGA 370 processor into Slot 1
• Supports Celeron PPGA / Coppermine FC-PGA / Cyrix PPGA CPU
• Supports Dual CPU configuration
• CPU Vcore adjustable (1.3v~3.5v) via Jumper
• CPU FSB adjustable (66/100/133) via Jumper
• More CPU options for Slot 1 Motherboard
• Pentium II/III-like cartridge for easy insertion and CPU safety
• Dimension:128 (W) x 73 (H) mm (w/o cartridge)

Mmmmm... tasty. So what separates this SlotKET from the rest of the pack? I have to say it's the flat plastic lever! Rather than using those bunk ass metal levers that stick up and are a pain in the ass to deal with, ABIT chose to use a plastic lever that actually sits flush with the socket when it's down! No more problems when you are sticking an oversized HS on only to find out that the metal lever won't let it sit flush on the CPU. There is one capacitor that is kinda close to the socket, but I had no problems fitting an Alpha PEP66 or FC-PAL35, or a GlobalWin (modified) CPM-32 (or whatever the old school, run of the mill GW's were called).

Did it work?.... Yes.    Worth the money?..... Definitely.
