The particular unit we will be taking a look at is the Xtreme Files 3.5" F1-B 80GB backup drive. This retail unit is also available in 160GB and 250GB models. Also worth mentioning is that the user can upgrade the hard drive to a larger capacity if their demands increase at a later time, as this unit uses a regular 3.5" ATA hard drive.

The Xtreme Files F1-B comes in a very nice retail box, clearly labeling the capacity and highlighting the major features.

The backup unit itself is a combination of plastic and metal, and the size fits perfect on top of a PC chassis, or can be placed on the desk top. The unit really needs some rubber pads on the bottom, as it can slide very easily. In the center of the drive are 3 buttons, Data Backup, OS Backup, and Restore, which control the major functions.

The front of the backup unit has a power connector, power switch, and USB port. All the necessary accessories are included which are the AC adapter & power cable, USB cable, manual, and install / rescue CD.
