The Corsair Flash Padlock:

The Corsair Flash Padlock comes in a standard retail-style plastic packaging. The 2GB capacity is clearly labeled on the front of the package. The back of the packaging indicates a limited 3-year warranty.

The Flash Padlock comes with a lanyard that attaches to the Flash Padlock through two small holes in the bottom. The cap fits on snuggly, but there is no “click” sound to assure that the cap is on securely, it sort of just squeezes around the USB plug end of the flash drive. First impressions of the Flash Padlock are that it is pretty big, especially compared to other USB flash drives. Not only it is bigger, but it also feels heavier than other USB flash drives. The size and weight is undoubtedly related to the extra hardware components inside used for the hardware lock. The Flash Padlock does have a hard plastic shell, giving it a feel of security, but with an emphasis on a “hardware lock” a more robust metal shell would probably be more suited to this drive.

The front face of the Flash Padlock has a 6 button key pad: 5 number buttons (0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9) and a “key” button (used during the PIN setting and unlocking). The face also has three indicator LEDs: an unlock LED (green), lock LED (red) and activity LED (blue).
