Flash Voyager Software:

Corsair has included an application on the driver CD to allow various extra features. For the security conscience is the ability to split the USB drive into public and private partitions, and set a password for the private partition. Another option which is becoming increasing popular is to make the USB drive bootable. Most modern PCs allow the user to set a USB storage device as a bootable drive in the BIOS. This has advantages for people that want to run a diskless PC, or utilize the drive as a rescue disk, the possibilities are endless.

Of course you don't have to install / use the Flash Voyager software utility to use the drive, the application just provides "extra" features.

 

Drive Performance:

For the most part, USB flash drive performance seem to be very close between all the manufacturers. Also performance can vary based on system specs, some PCs they may run faster, some slower. We ran a quick test using SiSoft Sandra 2005 disk benchmark just to make sure the drive was performing as expected.
