A first look at the enclosure (cont):

Along both sides of the enclosure are cutouts for airflow. As well, there are tiny metal ribs along the enclosure to give it texture and grip I suppose. On the rear are a power on/off switch, a power adapter connection, and a USB 2.0 connection. You can see the grill at the bottom of the rear panel where air is exhausted.

The hard drive tray is removed by loosening the two screws on the rear panel and just sliding the tray out. You can immediately see what makes this enclosure special with 80mm fan built into the hard drive tray. There is an air duct along the underside of the tray that channels air out of the rear grill.

The hard drive tray has hard-mounted power and IDE connectors, and the 4-pin power connector is adjustable side to side with an adjustment screw to allow for compatibility between different hard drives. The tray also has a built-in hard drive indicator light so that hard drive activity is still visible.
