Installation:

Installation is simple, just remove the tray, attach the hard drive to it with the 4 provided screws, then reinsert the tray and tighten the rear screws. I'm using a freshly formatted 120GB Western Digital Caviar 7200 RPM with 8MB cache.

Now the USB cable and power adapter are just plugged in and the drive is ready to be used. There is no driver installation required unless you are using Windows 98SE. I do have to say the power adapter cord is way too short. I have to lift my power strip off the ground to reach it (it's about 3.5 feet long). This is an easy problem to fixed and really should be taken care of.

When powered on, the enclosure is very quiet. If I hold my ear right next to it I can hear the hum of the hard drive and I don't hear any fan noise.

The hard drive activity light on the front panel is large and clearly visible form any angle. It glows green when the unit is powered on, and red when the hard drive is being accessed.
